10 must-watch Indian movies of 2019!

Every year we watch some brilliant movies that we remember for a long long time and gives a good feeling of watching again. We also watch some terrible movies that make us feel like not worth watching.

2019 was a brilliant year for the Indian cinema as we watched many commercial films outnumbered by the content-based films.

Following is our list of must-watch movies that we loved last year, the ones which were inventive and dealt with society.

10. Oh! Baby

This is one of those movies that we enjoyed throughout. Oh, Baby is directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy is a concept that narrates the importance of elderly people and how one should treat them. We loved the performance of Samantha Akkineni and Lakshmi in the movie.

 9.  Moothan

Nivin Pauly starrer, “Moothan” narrates a story of a 14-year-old boy who travels to Mumbai in search of his elder brother. Geetha Mohandas’ direction, acting of all the actors especially Nivin Pauly and by scoring full marks on all the technical aspects, this movie is one of the must-watch movies of the year.

8. Kavaludari

This film is directed by Hemanth M Rao that features a traffic police officer trying to solve a case that closed decades ago. Unlike any other cop movies, Hemanth’s screenplay keeps the story coherent in the movie.  Performance of Rishi, Ananth Nag and Achyuth Kumar’s, Hemanth Rao’s direction and background music has won many hearts.

7. Gully Boy

With its narration of the journey of a rapper from a slum in Mumbai to stardom, this film broke many records of mainstream Bollywood films. Zoya Akthar’s direction, Ranvir Singh’s acting, and 18-track album are highlights of the film. This movie was also India’s official entry for this year’s Academy Awards.

6. Game Over

Taapsee Pannu starrer, ‘Game Over’ is a 103 minutes drama-thriller that revolves around a game lover who is haunted by a mysterious intruder. Ashwin Srinivasan’s direction, Taapsee Pannu’s acting, and jaw-dropping sound mixing and background score make you watch this edge of the seat thriller.

5. Article 15

In a country where we are used to watching action movies centered on police,  this film is an attempt to show a real-life cop who struggles with the system to bring the concept of equality in the mindset of villagers. The story, characters, Anubhav Sinha’s direction, and Ayushmann Khurrana’s performance deserve a special round of applause.

4. Asuran

Vetrimaran directed this movie starring Dhanush as the lead actor. Asuran revolves around the struggle of a poor man to save his family when he is been haunted by greedy people. We loved the performance of all the actors and Vetrimaran’s direction.

3 Kumbalangi Nights

Madhu C Naryananan’s Kumbalangi Nights narrates a tale of brothers of a family who does not get along are bound together by inevitable consequences. This movie tells the importance of caring and loved ones in a person’s life. Soubin Shahr as an irresponsible brother in this film brilliant. Performances of all the actors in this film are top-notch.

2 Jallikattu

This film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery is probably one of the most unique attempt to show how the lives of many would change when an animal people depend upon for meat turns into a beast. With many sub-plots, sound design, cinematography, and editing, this 91 minutes movie sends out a strong social message to the audience.

 1 Super Deluxe

An anthology movie that is filled with multiple stories and long star-cast that narrates psychology, relationships with humor. Thiagarajan Kumararaja directed this movie has vivid characters one would remember for a long long time. Despite its 176 minutes runtime, the screenplay and sharp editing ensure to entertain the audience throughout the movie.
