12 year-old dies after roof collapses on him

Yadagiri: The substantial rains that lashed a few parts of the district has resulted in death of a child at Madhwar village in Yadgir taluk late on Friday night. 

Mahesh, aged 12, died after a portion of the roof fell on him while he was asleep.

Channamallappa Ghanti, Yadgir tahsildar, on Saturday assured the family to compensate under the Natural Disaster Management guidlines. 

The roof had weakened due to heavy rain and a part of it all of a sudden fell on the victim in the night, family sources said. 

A case has been enrolled in Saidapur police station.
