127 criminal cases against farmers to be withdrawn by state cabinet

Bengaluru: To charm the farmer’s community ahead of Assembly polls, the state Cabinet on Friday has decided to 127 criminal cases documented against engaged in various agitations, including those related with the Mahadayi and the Cauvery waterway water issues.

Law Minister T B Jayachandra told the reporters that cases against 97 farmers and 30 involved in other agitations, will be pulled back. 

Considering the long-standing demand by veterinary specialists who had requested salaries appropriate to medicinal professionals, the Cabinet has chosen to give a special allowance of 25% to these doctors. 

The Cabinet likewise gave its endorsement for the distribution of shoes and socks to 48.1 lakh students of government schools for the year 2018-19 at a cost of Rs 130 crore. 

It affirmed the proposition to buy 312 Mahindra Bolero jeeps by the police division at a cost Rs 20.5 crore.

Jayachandra additionally said that endorsement had been given to lease the civil terminal at Bidar Airport to GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited for airplane terminal activities till 2033. 

The Cabinet has affirmed the updated estimation of Rs 2,618 crore for giving drinking water from Tungabhadra rivers to towns in Pavagada, Molakalmuru, Challakere, Hosapete and Kudligi taluks. 

Endorsement has additionally been given to grant 16 acres of land of government land to Karnataka State Cricket Association to fabricate a greenfield cricket stadium at Holali town close Kolar.
