- Khader to lay foundation stone for 27 new projects

On Tuesday, Mayor Bhaskar K spoke with the reporters and informed that the 13 projects had cost Rs. 11.55 crore and the estimated cost for the 27 projects to be taken up will be Rs. 450.9 crore.
Completed projects
Public toilet inside Kadri Park, two public e-toilets near Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) colony at Pakkaladkka and near KHB grounds at Pakkaladkka, public toilet at the swimming pool in Lady Hill, a road leading to the landfill site at Kunjathbail, and other roadworks are a few of the 13 projects completed. The two acre landfill site is for dumping construction and demolition waste.

The Minister will lay foundation stone for a 11 km-long sewage pumping main line from Pandeshwar wet well to the sewage treatment plant at Mullakadu (Kavoor). It will cost Rs. 93 crore. The project will be taken up under financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank, said the mayor.
New projects
The new projects for which the foundation will be laid under smart city scheme include the construction of a multi-level car parking facility-cum-commercial complex at Hampankatta, construction of bus shelters, developing the road from Clock Tower to A.B. Shetty Circle, installing roof-top solar panels on government buildings to harness solar energy, setting command control centre in city corporation building, and laying underground drainage pipelines.
Additionally, the Minister will lay the foundation for renovation of swimming pool at Lady Hill, developing road circles at Bondel, Bunts Hostel, Karangalpady, KSRTC, and Lalbagh.
Mr. Khader will also lay the oundation for the second stage construction of a residential apartment for civic workers at Mahakalipadpu and completing pending works of Bejai market.
MCC aid to Kodagu
Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) will donate Rs. 10 lakh for relief operations in Kodagu, said Mayor Bhaskar
Informing reports on the aid, the mayor said that the the employees of the corporation will donate their one day’s salary, which will amount to Rs. 5.14 lakh. The councillors will contribute their monthly honorarium. Some other funds of the corporation will also be drawn for the purpose to make Rs. 10 lakh, he explained.
