139 years old Vittal school achievement

Vittal: As Kannada medium government schools are getting closed, the 139 years old Vittal school has made another achievement. 124 students have joined the 1st std in this school. Also the number of students joining from 2nd std to 8th std for the educational year this time has been the record highest.

124 children for 1st std

124 students enrolled for 1st std up till Friday. 10 students joined 2nd std, 12-3, 5-4, 17-5, 49-6, 13-7, 16 students joined the 8th std and thus 245 students joined the school at various levels this year. Including 21 students from the English medium, the total number of students in the school is now 953. About 205 children have joined the nursery. 101 have joined the LKG and 104 have joined the UKG. The school also has spoken English classes.

No headmaster!

The school does not have a headmaster. B. Vishwanath Gowda is its acting headmaster. The number of teachers provided y the government is 15. Since the number of students this year is more, 5 more teachers are required. It has 11 guest faculties. Subraya Pai has provided 4 teachers and 5 helpers for the pre primary education.

Pai-Rai responsible for the achievement

Subraya Pai, an alumnus of the school, provided facilities at the school by adopting the school through Bharati Janardana Seva Trust. Another alumnus, Ajit Kumar Rai, provided a 3 floor building costing 1.25 crore rupees to the school in memory of his parents Dr. Manjunatha Rai and Hemavati Rai, through Suprajit foundation. His friend from England provided the furniture.

The school gets snacks from Muddenahalli Shri Satyasai Annapoorna Trust, dance training from RK Arts director Rajesh Vittal, and has painting classes. The government has provided 2 rooms at the cost of 18 lakh rupees.

“Subraya Pai, Ajit Kumar Rai and the education department has motivated us. The teachers are working as a single team. The localities have also cooperated. It is the children’s luck,” observed B. Viswanath Gowda, the acting headmaster of the school.
