2-day Gowmandala prog inaugurated at Nehru Maidan

Mangaluru: In commemoration of 20 years of its existence, Govanithashraya Trust, Mangaluru has organised Gowmandala on December 7 and 8 at Nehru Maidan in the city.

The event aims to create awareness among people on the need for conservation of cattle and its products.

As many as 100 cows, including calves that are being reared by the trust at its Kapila, Amritha, Ganga and Gauri shelter house have been brought to the venue and people are being allowed to perform gowpooja to the cattle.

A model of the proposed Ram Mandir at Ayodhya by Rohith, an art teacher at Sharada Vidyalaya, a model on Kambala, Shivalinga and a 6-foot long Nandi attracted the attention of the visitors.

Various other programs, such as Sri Krishna Vesha contest for children below 12, cultural programs, yoga, bhajans, practical demonstration on “Gowdhuli” and “Gow Arati” will be held during the 2-day event.

Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade and Sri Vidyaprasanna Thirta among others participated in the programmed and offered pooja to the cow.
