26 school buses seized for violating safety norms

Bengaluru: The state transport department authorities seized 26 school buses that were not following the safety rules as prescribed by the Supreme Court.

The department conducted an inspection drive. Over 300 vehicles were inspected to check if they have implemented the safety measures.

“We have seized 26 school vehicles for not adhering to the Supreme Court’s directions regarding the safety of students inside school buses. Around 150 cases have been registered against the schools’ respective management for violation of the rules,” informed an officer from the department adding that the drive would continue for the next few days.
