The situation has called on the intervention of BJP President Amit Shah in order to flag the campaigning in Varuna. Mr. Shah’s visit on Saturday will give an impetus to Basavaraju’s campaign and might put an end to the rebellion against the party among Vijayendra’s supporters. He will participate in roadshows in Haadinaru village and in the constituencies of Krishnaraja, Chamaraja and Narasimharaja. He will also address party workers in Mysuru and campaign for BJP candidate Manjunath in Periyapatna. He will be spending more time in the Krishnaraja segment since it has been the strongest point for BJP in Karnataka in the last two decades.
Party sources are of the implication that Amit Shah’s visit to Varuna is a symbol of displeasure against both Yeddyurappa and Vijayendra, who have not been participating in the workings of the party for almost 10 days.
