ACT is one among the few shelters which are being run with the help of volunteers besides its full-time staff. Over two decades the volunteers of ACT have rescued animals in distress and have rehabilitated the abandoned ones. These fostered animals have become part of adoption drives so on so forth. While the existing volunteers have found it a fulfilling experience being part of ACT, it wants to extend this opportunity to animal lovers by inviting them to join as ‘Volunteers’.
Volunteer drive on May 18:
In this direction, ACT is organising Volunteer Drive on May 18 at SDM Law College Auditorium at 4 p.m to provide an opportunity to join as volunteers.

When asked what are the prerequisite to become a volunteer, “Should be animal lover, have the courage to serve community animals, spirit to work hard and give time for ACT,” said Suma Nayak.
Expressing a need for volunteers Dr Ganesh Pai, Founder Trustee said, “ We need young shoulders, we need young brains, we need enthusiastic youngsters. Giving publicity and volunteer work is essentially what youngsters can do as part of ACT.”
Requirements:
Those who wish to become a Volunteer must come along with their passport size photo, valid photo id proof copy and registration fee on May 18.
The fee is Rs 100 for students and Rs 250 for working individuals.
