Karkala: Renowned as an efficient officer, Annamali who recently resigned as a police officer has a special connection with Karkala. He started his service from Karkala itself in 2013 as the ASP of Karkala sub division and later got promoted as the SP of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru and provided his service with great efficiency. He spread awareness against drug abuse by conducting seminars at the colleges here and saw to it that the youth community does not fall prey to drugs. He installed complaint boxes in colleges. He brought in a proper system for the parking system at the market. He put a full stop to illegal sale of alcohol.
