Anurag Tiwari’s mysterious death to be treated as murder: CBI

Lucknow/Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the mysterious death of Anurag Tiwari, a native of Uttar Pradesh and posted as the Karnataka State Food and Civil Supplies Department Commissioner has declared it a murder case.

The CBI during investigation charged a few people with murder. It is now said that the team is expected to complete investigation at the earliest.

The post-mortem reports indicated that Anurag suffocated and had also sustained injuries on his body which led to suspicions. Following this, Anurag’s family urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to hand the case over to the CBI. Subsequently, the Chief Minister transferred the case to CBI for further investigation.

Anurag Tiwari was found dead on May 17, 2017 at Hazratganj in Uttar Pradesh.
