Babiya alive: Social media news fake

Kumble: It has come to knowledge that the news which was getting shared wildly on social media on Friday regarding the demise of ‘Babiya’ crocodile which is the main attraction of Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple, a famous as a pilgrimage centre at Ananthapura of Kasaragod in Kerala is a fake news.

The new president of the administration committee of Ananthapura Kshetra, M V Mahalingeshwara Bhat, in a release on this issue stated that the crocodile at the temple is alive and healthy. Lies have been spread has news on the social media with the aim to hurt the feelings of the devotees. A complaint will be lodged with the cyber police in this connection, he informed.

Spread of false news on social media

Nowadays, the intensity of spread false news through social media had increased drastically and has caused much fear amongst the general public. The act of spreading whimsical lies and false news in the modern world of latest smart phones has caused much unhappiness to the society. The youth with least knowledge regarding the importance of the news and its understanding have an insatiable desire to misuse the internet and this action has woken up the cyber crime division. Thus the cyber crime has come forward to manage the misuse of the internet through legal action. When the new generation is aware, the future will be peaceful, inform cyber officials.
