DCP Rohan Jagadeesh under the guidance of Belagavi police commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang led a team of 150 police personnel and carried out an intensive search that lasted for over two-and-a-half hours at the jail.
It maybe recalled that a convict lodged in Hindalga jail had made threat calls to the office of Union minister Nitin Gadkari.
DCP Rohan Jagadeesh said, “Our ACPs, five inspectors and 150 personnel accompanied with a dog squad inspected the entire jail. We found tobacco, beedi cigarettes, small knives, mobile chargers and Bluetooth devices during the raids. These items have been confiscated by the police. How these items manage to reach inside the prison despite the security needs to be investigated. No mobile phones were found during the raid.”
