Bengaluru: 2 inter-State drugs peddlers arrested

Bengaluru: Two inter-State drug peddlers, who were selling various types of drugs here after bringing them from Rajasthan, were arrested by CT Market police on Tuesday.

Rajasthan-based Pappuram alias Pappu (20) and Chunnilal alias Sunil (20) are the arrested.

The two lived in Attibele.

“Rs 2 crore worth of drugs were recovered from the accused including 1.820 kilograms of brown sugar, 859 grams of MDMA, 1 kilogram of mixing powder and 1.700 kilograms of marijuana. A hukkah, a digital weighing machine, a car used in the act and two-wheelers were seized from them,” said DCP, Western Division Dr Sanjeev M Patil.

The accused would bring drugs from Rajasthan to Bengaluru by train and sell it only to their known customers who were mostly employees of IT, BT companies and college students.

The CT Market police officials were pursuing the peddlers for some months. They received the information that the two were at Godown Street at around 5.30 pm on Sunday. A team led by Inspector BG Kumaraswamy raided and arrested them.
