Bengaluru: 7 students go missing; Leave note about 'making it big in sports'

Bengaluru: In two separate incidents, seven students, including a college girl went missing in Bengaluru, police sources said on Monday, October 11.

Police said the letters recovered from their houses mention the teenagers left their house because they were not interested in studies.

An IANS report said that Parikshith, Nandan, and Kiran, residents of Soundarya Layout in Hesaraghatta Road studying Class 10 have gone missing since Saturday morning. The parents searched for them till evening and complained to the police.

Three boys have written separate letters. Two of them had written notes for their families saying more than studies they want to pursue sports as a career and earn a good name and money, police said.

According to IANS, the contents of their letters mentioned “We are more interested in sports than studies. Even if you pressure us, we do not have the interest to pursue studies. We will build our careers in the field of sports. We like the game Kabaddi. We will earn a good name in this field and return after excelling and making a name in that field.”

The Bagalagunte police have taken up an investigation and are searching for the whereabouts of the boys.

In another case, a 21-year girl and three children went missing suspiciously near AGB Layout.

According to reports, Amruthavarshini (21), a student of BCA Third semester, Royan Sidharth, Chintan, and Bhoomi, all 12-year old kids and residents of Crystal Apartment went missing.

All four left their homes on Sunday morning and have not returned. The parents informed the police that their children spent most of the time with Amruthavarshini and she had taken the kids along. A complaint has been lodged at the Soladevanahalli police station, IANS said.

A note mentioning a list of items to carry including slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, water bottle, cash, sports items, etc. has been found from the home of one of the children.

At the time of publication, news reports said that three of the seven students from Bengaluru, who were reported missing from their homes as on Sunday, had been found.
