It is said that the caller claimed that he had demands, which if not met, would jeopardize the safety of passengers. A few hours later, the inspector received messages on WhatsApp

The investigation has revealed the message to be a hoax and a probe is on to identify the caller. The call and messages that originated from an international mobile number were traced to Chennai.

Officials claim that the call and the messages were sent using the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) disguised as a number from the UK.
