The city police’s decision to book drug peddlers under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act, 1988 has been upheld by the high court advisory board.

Officials of the CCB drug control squad had earlier submitted a proposal for the arrest of the peddler under said Act. DCP (Crime) Kuldeep Kumar Jain and JCP Sandeep Patil had reviewed the proposal and sent a recommendation to City Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao.

Following the city police commissioner’s order, a Nigerian drug peddler was taken to preventive detention and remanded in judicial custody.
