In February, the Udupi district police informed the car owner, R Rajkumar, that the car which he was driving was involved in a murder case reported in Hiriyadka police limits on February 10, 2020.  The court released it on the condition that it should not be sold or rented to a third person until the trial was over.

Rajkumar then reached the car dealer from where he bought the vehicle and the dealer promised that he will re-pay the amount. However, as he failed to return the amount, Rajkumar filed a complaint with the RT Nagar police.

It is said that six men including a businessman from Hiriyadka were held on charges of murdering Mumbai-based businessman, Vashista Yadav. The accused took Vashista to a desolate place in Hiriyadka in the accused businessman’s  Toyota Fortuner and killed him.
