It will be used to treat children at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. Over 10,000 units of blood were collected from the police department’s initiative. The west zone of the city’s DCP’s office was temporarily turned into a blood donation camp.

Speaking to TNM, DCP Sanjeev Patil said, “Patients who needed blood were suffering and due to the fear of the pandemic, people were not coming forward to donate blood. When the second wave was over, we were approached by SEDT and we conducted this camp. We wish to conduct another camp in the future too.”
