Bengaluru: Police raid spas, hotels running prostitution rackets; 291 held

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police has raided 11 clubs for gambling, 12 hotels and 11 spas indulging in illegal trafficking and running prostitution rackets, in the last month.

Commissioner of Police Bengaluru City, Kamal Pant tweeted, “The police have taken 291 accused in custody. Other three cases related to cricket betting have also been registered”.

In the year 2020, Bengaluru police officials had busted several alleged prostitution rackets which were running under the guise of spas, hotels and massage centres.

In February 2020, a prostitution racket operating from an OYO service apartment was unearthed by CCB officials. The prostitution racket was being run from the Kings Suites service apartment tied up with OYO. Police raided the place, arrested two pimps and rescued two women.

In December 2020, Police officials unearthed three prostitution rackets being run in the guise of spa and massage centres at Koramangala and Basveshwarnagar. Also, another prostitution racket was busted and four women of foreign nationality have been rescued after a raid conducted by the CCB.
