Bengaluru traffic police get new high-end bikes

Bengaluru: The traffic police have new machines to help them crack down on violations and intervene sooner in case of accidents. The Bengaluru Traffic Police got five brand new modified high-end bikes on Wednesday aimed at enhancing enforcement.

The police department has provided five brand new modified high-end bikes to the traffic police on Wednesday. 

These bikes will be used primarily for quick response by the police department, including to escort senior ministers and visiting dignitaries, during emergencies as part of natural disaster response, and for rushing to accident sites to provide necessary help.

Five Suzuki Gixxer bikes, designed specially for police duty, were handed over to Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshawara by company representatives.

“These bikes have been designed to accommodate an announcement system, wireless, night visibility lights, siren and boot space to accommodate a first aid kit and traffic gadgets,” Anupam Agarwal, DCP East, Traffic said. The bikes, stationed at the headquarters, will act as first responders during an emergency, he added.

The police department told that they are very happy with the functioning of this new design and are planning to order 90 such bikes fro the traffic police.
