Local residents grew suspicious after noticing a foul smell coming from the first-floor apartment of the building and informed the police. The police rushed to the scene and immediately launched an investigation.
Speaking to the media after preliminary investigations, Additional Commissioner of Police, Satish, revealed that the body of the 26-year-old woman had been dismembered into over 30 pieces and stored in the fridge. “The crime is suspected to have been committed four or five days ago. A high-level investigation team, including the Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO), dog squad, FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory), and senior officers, has been deployed,” Satish said.
The victim is believed to be from another state and had been residing in Bengaluru. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
