Mangaluru: The nationwide strike called by trade unions on Wednesday, January 8, in protest against the Union government’s anti-national policies is unlikely to disrupt normal life in Managluru and Udupi.

Mangaluru and Udupi private bus owners have informed that the strike won’t disrupt bus services in both the cities.

Canara Bus Owner’s Association President K Rajaverma Ballal said that the trade union strike will not disrupt bus services in Mangaluru.

As major banks will remain closed on January 8, ATMs and branch services might also be affected.

The major demand of the Bharat Bandh is for the government to drop the proposed labour reforms. The recently-passed bill has proposed to merge 44 labour laws into four codes – wages, industrial relations, social security and safe working conditions.
