Bhaskar Shetty murder case: Udupi district court announces final verdict

Udupi: The district court here has found all three of the main accused in the murder of businessman Bhaskar Shetty as guilty of the crime and pronounced life sentences to them.

Shetty was murdered and his body was burned in a homa kunda (ritual fireplace) in 2016.

Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari, son Navneet Shetty and Rajeshwari’s lover Niranjan Bhat were the three main accused of the murder.

They have been convicted now and will be serving life terms.

The fourth accused, Niranjan Bhat’s father Srinivas Bhat, died from an illness. While the fifth accused driver Raghavendra was acquitted.
