Bike-Auto rickshaw accident near Padubidri, renowned Kabaddi player dies

Padubidri: A state level Kabaddi player died after the bike which he was riding was hit by an auto rickshaw near Paduvan Meenugarika road at Ameen Mula Sthana, Tenka village on the midnight of June 1st.

The deceased has been identified as Sujit R. Mendon (21), resident of Bharat Nagara Yermal Bada village who is also a talent state level Kabaddi player.

It is being said that the cause for the accident was the rash and negligent driving by the auto rickshaw driver. The impact of the accident threw Sujit off of his bike and on to a stone. The severely injured Sujit was rushed to the hospital but his life could not be saved.

Excellent amateur Kabaddi player

Sujit was the member of Ramanjaneya sports club and Mahalaxmi team of Bada village and was a talented amateur kabaddi player.

He has also represented as the leader of teams outside of other villages. He played on the corner position in Kabaddi and completed his PU education at Yermal. During that time, he represented Udupi district team and also the state team at Punjab. In the evening, after college hours, he used to work as a fisherman and thus lived a hardworking lifestyle.

He is the son of fisherman Ramesh Mendonand Yashoda couple and he was one among their three sons.
