Birth of 6 new political parties in less than a month

Bengaluru: The poll has given birth to six new political parties in less than 30 days while elections are due in May 2018. Many entrepreneurs, activists and sandalwood stars have also announced plans of launching new political parties.

The latest addition is the ‘Rani Chennamma’ party with a tagline “From your home to Vidhana Souda”, aims at electing the state’s first ever chief minister unlike the rest of the parties which aims at abolishing corruption and developing economy. The party has chosen Brahmendran as its president and Bharathi Naik as the head of its women wing.

The party had a launch in 2009 by activist Desai and will be making a debut in elections in May 2018.  The party aims at acquiring candidates preferably women and so has been named after Kittur Rani Chenamma.

As said by the president of the Chenamma Party, the main aim is to make the first women CM of Karnataka to be elected from their party. Hence, they have reserved more than 50% of their seat to women. Thus ensuring equality and providing the state with a steady government.

The new political parties emerged recently includes Karnataka Prajnavantha Janatha Party launched by Sandalwood star Upendra, Bharatiya Praja Kalyan Party(BPKP), Praja Parivarthana Party by activist B Gopal, Namma Congress launched by Varthur Prakash, a MLA from Kolar, Jana Samanya Paksha launched by activists who fought against illegalities in Shivaram Karanth layout and Bharathiya Janashakthi congress launched by former police officer Anupama Shenoy with an aim to abolish corruption from the system.
