BJP appoints 11 poll managers for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections

Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah enlisted a group of party functionaries from the nation to run the party’s critical campaigning in the State. The State has been divided into seven districts and 11 members have been made accountable for them.

BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, who has been credited with fruitful election administration in Jammu and Kashmir and in the North east, has been made in charge of Hyderabad Karnataka (40 seats), thought to be a frail connection for the party. 

Bhupendra Yadav and Om Prakash Mathur, both close assistants of Shah, have been made accountable for Bombay Karnataka (50 seats), a place where the BJP needs to win huge to cross the halfway check, and coastal Karnataka (37 seats), where the party lost in 2013. Others on the group are Satish Upadhyaya, former Delhi BJP president, and Ashish Shelar, former Mumbai unit BJP president.
