BJP keen on fielding former union minister Srinivas Prasad from Chamarajanagar

Mysuru: The State BJP unit wants to field V Srinivas Prasad from Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency against Congress in Lok Sabha elections, informed sources.

As per the sources, BJP workers from Chamarajanagar met Srinivas Prasad on Thursday, at his residence in Mysuru and convinced him to contest against sitting MP R Dhruvanarayan.

However, Prasad is yet to decide about his candidature.

Speaking on the issue BJP leader Venkataswamy said that thought there are several aspirants Srinivas Prasad is an able candidate, therefore they have been asking him to contest. 

He further added that even the party high command wants  Srinivas Prasad to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

It may be recalled that Srinivas Prasad had represented Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha seats for five times and had also served as Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet. While, the current MP Dhruvanarayan elected twice from the constituency and this is his third contest from the same seat.
