Speaking to reporters, Yatnal stated, “We must not allow India to turn into another Pakistan. Therefore, I have requested the Prime Minister to nationalize Waqf properties and declare them as national assets. Otherwise, farmers, religious institutions, temples, and villages could soon find themselves designated as Waqf lands.”
Yatnal criticized what he called the “dark Waqf laws” created by Nehru and Gandhi, describing them as a “curse on the nation.”
He urged that these properties be nationalized and utilized for the development of backward classes and Dalits.
