Mysuru: A day after Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa allocated portfolios to 17 newly appointed ministers who were inducted into the Cabinet nearly a week ago, BJP MLA V Srinivas Prasad on Tuesday said BJP high command’s decision to have three Deputy Chief Ministers in the State is unconstitutional.

Addressing a press conference Srinivas said that the BJP high command was creating disturbance in the state governance by appointing three DCMs in the cabinet.

He further added, “The reasons why BJP came to power were the 17 disgruntled MLAs of Congress and JD(S), the government after coming into power must have taken care of them. But they are left out in the cold and the BJP leaders are fighting for power and portfolios.”

More than three weeks after he was sworn in as the Chief Minister, Yediyurappa had expanded his cabinet on August 20 by inducting 17 Ministers.

Though the expansion brought an end the nearly month-long wait for the cabinet to take shape, it led to some heartburn in a section of the party as several MLAs continued to make no secret of their displeasure after missing the bus.
