Puttur: Accusing BJP and the SDPI of trying to gain political mileage for the upcoming taluk and zilla panchayat elections by using Veer Savarkar’s name, Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha state president Rajesh Pavitran said that the two parties are merely putting a drama of fighting among themselves.

Speaking to reporters here Pavitran said that their organisation upholds Savarkar and Nathuram Godse as their leaders while BJP was resorting to double standards and wants to be associated only with Savarkar.

Urging Hindus not to fall for BJP’s political ploy, Pavitran stated that BJP claims not to need the Mahasabha but wants to be associated to their leader. He further claimed that SDPI came to existence because of the BJP.

He dared the BJP governance to ban the SDPI while recalling the saffron party’s demand for banning the organisation when not in power.

On the recent change of guard in the state, he said that BJP unseated Yediyurappa who was instrumental in the saffron party establishing a foothold in Karnataka.
