On Saturday, December 28 as the protest was ongoing at Town Hall here, the police could hear a cry of pain over the noisy slogans of the protesters. As they rushed to investigate they found that a stray cow, in an attempt to cross the fence had got stuck and injured herself as the fence spike had pierced into her tummy. Seeing the bovine writhing in pain, the police personnel rushed to its rescue.

No sooner other people, including motorists passing through the region stopped and joined hands with the police to rescue the animal. They were able to lift the cow from the fence and release it.

As the cow had injured herself, Silver Jubilee Police office inspector Tanveer Ahmed requested for a first aid kit and provided first aid to the animal. He also summoned a transport vehicle and sent the cow to a veterinary hospital with a police escort.
