B'luru: Jail inmate found hanging in prison toilet

A 36-year-old jail inmate committed suicide by hanging himself at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on Monday morning.

The deceased, Manoj, a resident of Azad City was arrested in connection with a bike theft case and sent to prison on May 1.

He was found hanging in the toilet of the prison barracks here. The exact cause of the suicide is not yet known.

However, his jail inmates disclosed that he was hopeful that his family would bail him out of prison. It is thus suspected that he took the extreme step as his family was not able to arrange money for his bail.

An investigation is ongoing.
