This idea comes in the wake of two persons falling to death from a Church Street pub late Friday, June 21 night. The two were climbing down the stairs when they slipped and fell from a stairway window.
Speaking on the issue DCP (central), D Devaraj said that as most of the pubs in the city are on rooftops they need to have six-foot-tall barriers or railings to prevent accidents.
Devaraj further recalled an incident in a Church Street pub, where eight people were stuck in a lift car after it malfunctioned, triggering panic in the area.

Meanwhile Police commissioner Alok Kumar said that multiple agencies are responsible for regulating pubs and they’d soon hold a meeting with various agencies to discuss measures to prevent accidents on their premises.
