Madhusudhan alias Madhu (27) of Hebbal in Mysuru was arrested by the Adugodi Police. He was the second accused in a murder case registered in 2014.

Madhu and 6 others were accused visited the house of Udayraj Singh and Susheela couple on March 25, 2014, posing as customers who were interested in buying antique jewellery. The gang assaulted the couple and demanded for handing over the valuables. When Udayaraj resisted, they slit his throat before decamping with Rs 18 lakhs worth of jewellery and Rs 2.5 lakhs in cash.

Adugodi police had filed a charge sheet against seven – including Madhu. In 2017, Madhu secured an interim bail and went absconding. In his absence, in June 2019, the court delivered a verdict holding the 6 accused guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine.

Meanwhile, Madhu fled to Bihar and started living there as Rahul. Later he started working at Pune. He was careful not to use mobile devices or contact his family members to avoid detection.
