Boy watches ‘Arundathi’ movie, sets himself on fire!

Madhugiri: A boy has reportedly set himself on fire after having watched the Telugu horror-fantasy genre movie “Arundathi”.

Renuka Prasad (22) is the victim.

Renuka had brought 20 litres of petrol out of which he has poured one litre on him and set himself on fire. As the heat became unbearable, he has come running to the streets. At that point in time, Taluk President of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KaRaVe) Shivakumar stopped by and immediately admitted him to Madhugiri Government Hospital.

Later, he was shifted to Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru for advanced treatment.

His condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, Renuka’s father Siddappa has said, “My son was a topper in SSLC and for higher education, we had sent him to Tumakuru. Inspite of telling him not to watch ‘Arundathi’, he has watched the movie. He became a spoiled brat after he joined the hostel”.
