BS Yeddyurappa releases BJP’s manifesto in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president and Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa released the party’s manifesto, in the presence of Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and other senior party leaders which promised to re-introduce the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation Bill 2012 if the party came to power in the upcoming assembly elections.

At the inaugural programme of the party’s manifesto Yeddyurappastressed on the party’s commitment towards welfare of the farmers and also announced various measures for them in the state.

BJP has promised to provide free sanitary napkins to BPL women and girl students and at Rs. 1 for other women under the new “StreeSuvidha Scheme. BJP will launch the “MukhyaMantri Smartphone Yojane” to provide women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families with free smartphones. It has pledged to develop 6 “K-Hubs” as the biggest incubators and co-working spaces for startups in India at Hubballi, Bengaluru, Raichur, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Kalaburgi. It will also launch the “MukhyaMantri Laptop Yojane” to provide every student enrolling in a college with a free laptop- Digital India making inroads to poor families. The party is set to establish a 10,000 Crore “Stree Unnati Fund” to set up one of the largest women run co-operatives and establish “Stree Unnati Stores” to market its products at district and taluk headquarters. Start up culture will further flourish under BJP. 

In the mean time, earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tended to the party’s Mahila Morcha wing in Karnataka, identifying the means taken by the BJP government at the Center to advance women empowerment in the nation. 

On the other hand, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is good to go to close the eighth leg of his campaign in the election bound state by tending to public and corner meetings in Kalburgi, Gadag and Haveri regions today.

The state is set to go to the elections on May 12 while counting will be on May 15.
