Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said that Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa showed enthusiasm to become the CM only for the sake of personal power and not for the development of our state.

Siddaramaiah alleged that Yediyurappa orchestrated Operation Kamala only to enjoy the privileges of a CM and not bothered about the development of the state. “He (Yediyurappa) also failed in handling flood and drought crisis,” Congress leader said.

In a series of tweet, Siddaramaih wrote, “Karnataka still needs to get more than 70k Cr funds from Central govt. State govt is cutting on all the development projects. No MLA funds also. Education sector ignored. Farmers are allowed to suffer. Corporates are crying for reforms. Sad affairs:(.”

“Our State govt’s balance sheet was well within the provisions of FRBM act during our tenure. Investment intentions were positive, upward job growth was witnessed, output was high. Now it is all the opposite. Karnataka too is suffering because of BJP,” added Siddaramaiah.

He further wrote, “Direct tax collection is at 20 year low missing the target by more than 10% & less than 5.5% compared previous year at the same time. Government, through its shortsighted & unscientific approach, has destroyed the country’s economic scenario.”
