BSY in Trouble as Supreme Court Starts Hearing on More than 15 Land Denotification Cases

Bengaluru: Supreme Court has adjourned its hearing for two months on two petitions which alleged former Karnataka Chief Minister, state BJP President BS Yeddyurappa (BSY) violated law to denotify land when he was chief minister of Karnataka state. The move of the Apex Court is expected to rejuvenate as many as 15 denotification cases registered against BSY earlier.

Supreme Court began its hearing on denotification cases after Karnataka state government questioned high court’s previous judgment which cancelled all denotification cases registered against BSY and a plea by a RTI activist on land denotification. The two petitions alleged that BSY violated law to denotify land when he was the chief minister of Karnataka.
