Mr. Misquith answered a question at the programme and said that earlier the RTA had served a notice on the association for hiking the fares without the consent of the authority. The association questioned the notice in the Karnataka State Appellate Authority which upheld the notice following which the order was passed.
The association had announced the hike in fares through the media and therefore it should announce the rolling back of fares also through the media for the benefit of the people. The bus operators should comply with the order, passed about four days ago by the authority and the fares should be rolled back in immediate effect, he informed.
