Car skids of newly inaugurated Pumpwell Flyover, 1 killed, 4 injured

Mangauluru: A man was killed and 4 others injured when a car skid off from the newly inaugurated Pumpwell Flyover and fell on top of another car that was moving on service road below the flyover on Saturday, February 8.

The deceased is identified as Praveen Fernandes (45), a resident of Bajal. According to police, Praveen and two other passengers were traveling in a car on the service road and another car that was traveling from Nanthoor to Thokkottu on the flyover hit the sidewall and fell on top of another car.

Praveen and two others were seriously injured in the incident and two from the car that fell were also injured.

The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital however, Praveen passed away to his injuries.

A case has been registered at Traffic Police station- south and police are investigating the case.
