Taking up the issue, NGO Civil and Green Warriors filed a complaint with the Cottonpet police on June 6 against Joint Director of Animal Husbandry office Anand, Assistant Director Basavaraj and Animal Birth Control Center in charge Abhilash Maddur.

The three have been filed under section 11 (1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act-1960 (ruin or murder any creature in a brutal way) and Section 428 (committing mischief of killing animal) and 34 (criminal act by several people) of the IPC.

Activist Geetha Mishra, in her complaint to the magistrate of Bengaluru, expressed that there were abnormalities in the log sheet entries with respect to dogs picked up from the streets and that surgeries were messed up.

The activist asserted that the ear tips of the puppies were cut off (distinguishing proof of sterilized dogs) notwithstanding when surgeries were not performed and further, these canines are purposely being moved to the Kanakapura forests and different zones in order to maintain a strategic distance from the local people from scrutinizing the mess up.

Notwithstanding, Animal Birth Control Center in charge Abhilash Maddur has said that the charges were false.
