Chandrashekhar’s treatment continues

Malpe: The health of Chandrashekhar who had consumed poison three days back in an attempt to commit suicide worsened further on Wednesday. He is the brother of Ramesh Moger, who was one of the missing fishermen aboard the doomed deep sea trawler Suvarna Tribhuja.

He is currently fighting for his life in the ICU of Adarsh hospital in Udupi. Chandrashekhar has fallen into depression on knowing that the boat had gone missing and his condition went to the worst when he learnt about the finding of the wreckage of the vessel.

He was admitted to the hospital on Monday. He was working in the fishing industry and his family was dependent on him. He is the 5th among the 7 children of Shaniyur Moger of Bhatkal. Including missing Ramesh, he had two elder brothers, two younger brothers and two elder sisters. Even as the elderly parents’ tearful eyes longingly await for the arrival of their son Ramesh, another of their son is now fighting for his own life, which has only worsened their condition.

The poison has spread throughout the body and he is bleeding. Hs treatment has been continued, inform the doctors. Udupi DySP Jai Shanker and Malpe police station Inspector Madhu B E have visited the hospital and conducted investigation in this connection.

Yet to sign the indemnity bond

The families of the missing fishermen from Uttara Kannada are yet to sign the indemnity bond to avail the compensation from the state government. 2 families form Malpe have already signed the bond while the 5 families in Uttara Kannada have been informed of it and are expected to sign in a couple of days, informed Nagaraj, Deputy Director of Karwar Fisheries.
