Chargesheet filed against Sam Peter, others for using NCIB name for extortion

Mangaluru: A chargesheet has been filed by the cops against 5 people including main accused Sam Peter for allegedly hatching a plot to extort money posing as sleuths of National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB).

The accused in the chargesheet are T Sam Peter (53), a native of Koyilad Kavanada in Kerala and presently residing at Manipal of Udupi district, T K Bopanna (33), a native of Madikeri Siddapura Arekala, presently residing at Nehru Nagar, Yalahanka, Bengaluru, Madan (41), a resident of Bengaluru south, North Street, Neelasandra, Chinnappa (38), a resident of Virajpet Kakootapuram Nalkeri, Sunilraju (35), a resident of Kanakapura Pillikama, Bengaluru, Kodandarama (39), a resident of Gowdanapalya, Bengaluru, Moideen alias Cherian (70), a resident of Kulur in Mangaluru and S A K Abdul Latif (59), a resident of Falnir in Mangaluru city. Of all the accused, 12 have been arrested, while three are on the run.

The case was investigated by the cops based on the information that the gang was hatching plan to kill some people and kidnap others to extort money from them and as a result, the chargesheet has been filed.
