Speaking to Udayavani Dilraj Alva, owner of SGP said, “Tulu is spoken by the people of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts in Karnataka and parts of Kasargod district. The inclusion of Tulu in the 8th schedule of the Constitution has been a long-standing demand of the Tulu speaking community, in order to support this demand one of our bus on route 27 has been painted Tulu vowels and hashtags – #Tuluto8thschedule and #TuluofficiallnKA_K.”

“People of the district can also learn about the Tulu vowels written on the bus,” Alva added.

The Tulu vowels are on the bus that got a fresh coat of yellow and green paint for fitness certificate on Sunday and started to ply on Wednesday, January 8.

This is not the first time that SGP bus on route 27 is displaying messages for social causes. There are two other buses carrying messages on Swachh Bharat and Go Green.
