There is a multi-coloured pole between the double conical pole. The lights in it change colour 8 times in 2 minutes. During midnight, even if the main lights switch off, the multi coloured lights in the middle will keep lighting. Thus it indicates the road for the late night riders.
Impediments during road development
Many years back, there were huge trees on either sides of the road. But, for road development, most of the trees were chopped down and the action attracted much protest. Later, after many talks, the church, houses and stores gave land to facilitate the development. Since four years, after the remaining trees were felled, work is being done on the construction of drainage, footpath, bus bay and the concrete road.
Power saving
Since the double conical pole street lamps have been equipped with LED lights it helps in power saving. These have been installed on an experimental basis on only one road. Based on the public response and the maintenance, steps will be taken for similar installation in other parts of the city.
Action for model road

Discussions will be held for similar installation on other roads in the future,” informed Praveen Chandra Alva, corporator.
