CM Bommai appeals to citizens to not violate Covid-19 protocols during festivals

Bengaluru: In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that celebrations should be observed in a manner that Covid cases don’t rise.

Bommai appealed to people to follow all the Covid norms and avoid overcrowding in public places during the festival.

The Covid-19 cases are in control now and people must cooperate in reducing the number of cases in the state by following COVID appropriate behaviour, he stated.

“People should take precautions, there should be no overcrowding and all Covid norms should be followed,” he said.

Karnataka has witnessed 1,432 new cases of coronavirus and 27 deaths, taking the total number of infections to 29.34 lakh and the toll to 37,088, the health department said on Thursday. The day also saw 1,538 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 28,76,377.
