Speaking to the reporters Bommai said, “A meeting was held with the DCs of Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Udupi, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu districts. As these are border districts, I have directed them to ramp up testing and vaccinations for better management of Covid-19. ”

“Cases in Chamarajanagar and Hassan have reduced. However, strict measures must be taken in few places in the Udupi district. The vaccination drive has been intensified in Mangaluru and Udupi.  Also, for the past 30 days, cases in Kasargod have reduced drastically,” he added.

Talking about Ganeshotsav celebrations in the state, Bommai said, “This was not discussed in today’s meeting. But we are thinking about it and will soon take a decision. Border districts will also be taken into consideration in this regard.”
