Bengaluru: Lashing out at chief minister BS Yediyurappa for indulging in ‘vindictive politics’, Congress leader DK Shivakumar on Friday accused the government of stalling or cancelling projects started by the erstwhile Congress-JD(S) coalition government.

Speaking to reporters before departing for Delhi to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged money laundering case, Shivakumar said that vindictive action has been going on against Congress and JD(S) legislators.

“Though my great friend chief minister Yediyurappa said that he will not indulge in the vindictive politics in the assembly, he has sown the seed of vindictiveness after assuming the office,” he said.

On Thursday, hours after Karnataka High Court declined the Congress leaders plea seeking a stay on previous summons issued by ED in a money laundering case, the law enforcement agency issued fresh summons to Shivakumar asking him to appear before it in the afternoon today.

Earlier in the day, Shivakumar downplayed the allegations of corruptions levelled against him and claimed that he was facing a political case for protecting some MLAs.

“I have been a law-abiding citizen all my life, have always respected the law. I have got notices from agencies on different issues, I have answered everything and if they want more answers then I will give,” he asserted.
