Gopal Poojary, Congress candidate from Byndoor seat, and H. Gopal Bhandary, Congress candidate from Karkala seat. All three of them lost at their respective constituencies.
Congress candidate from Kaup,Vinay Kumar Sorake, was the first to turn up at the centre by 7.15 a.m. and was later followed by BJP candidate from Kaup,Lalaji Mendon. Congress candidate for Kundapur, Rakesh Malli sensed that he was losing and left the centre on the pretext of taking medicine.
